How to remove an (unexpected) e-mail address postfixed to one's BugGuide User Name ?

When I view my user profile, an (invalid) e-mail address is added (in parentheses) behind my user name.
When I edit my profile, only my user name displays; which is the way I created it long time ago.
Does anyone know why an e-mail address is added to a username, whether it is publicly visible, and how one can remove it ?

Unfortunately, you can't.
However, it's really not a big deal. It's just a record of the email address you used when you originally registered. No one else can see it.
