Canadian Melanolophia - Hodges #6620 - Melanolophia canadaria
Wildwood Park; Radford, Virginia, USA
April 23, 2015
This moth was on the outside wall of a building in a wooded area near a creek. I'd like an Id, please.

Wear on the wings and the glare of the picture make it difficult to go down further.

Thanks,
the lighting was not good at all when I took this pic!

My suggestion:
Most likely M. canadaria: its PM line does have the "flying seagull" spike near the inner margin that is mentioned on BG's Info page.

Thanks,
Peter, I think may be it! I've seen those on this same wall before, but the gulls have been more noticeable.

Melanolophia maybe?
what do you think? (1)

Thanks,
looks like a possibility.
