I'm not quite sure what it is yet but it is definitely something cool. None of the genera I'm familiar with here in the northeast look anything like this -- the fact that it has 75 pairs of legs is unique it itself. Are they common at that site?

I'm at the University of Connecticut. Would you be willing to send me the specimen so I could get an identification? It might also be possible for me to visit the site later in the summer. You've made me very curious!

 
I've seen similar centipedes before
but this was the first time I've caught one to photograph. I'm sure I would be able to find one of these again. Unfortunately I did not keep it; my permits to collect insects in NYC only allow me to currently keep hoppers and beetles. However I can apply for additions to collect other specimens, just may take some time if you're really interested. If you do visit, I'd be more than happy to show you around! This isn't the first oddity I've found this year doing research; I'll definitely photograph more centipedes for you!
