fly - Lasiopogon

fly - Lasiopogon
buffalo national river, newton County, Arkansas, USA
April 29, 2007
Size: ~10mm
for Herschel to judge

Lasiopogon
I guess Lasiopogons look alike, but this looks very much like the female I caught on Sylamore Creek in Stone Co. AR 27 April 2006, and the male I caught in the same place 16 April 2007. We don't know the species, and it may be a new species. I'll give mine to the professionals to determine.

Lasiopogon
thanks Norm, provided they are still out by the time the weather clears, i will catch a few. you or Herschel can decided if this picture is worth keeping, i was just going to frass it... also, if i catch any of these, should i pin them or not?

Lasio
Looks right. I will have Norm compare it to his. And will see if Cannings is out there. He disappears for long spells. And Dr. Fisher is at a meeting for a few days.

i do not know if i will be able to get back to the buffalo until the weekend... but i might be able to get away sometime in the week, i do enjoy the hiking. consider a few caught... i hope.
