nitidulid - Epuraea rufa - female

nitidulid - Epuraea rufa - Female
North Bethesda, Montgomery County, Maryland, USA
May 6, 2015
I think this nitidulid belongs in the genus Epuraea and might be E. rufa. Am I correct that the apparently curved middle tibia suggests that this is a male?
Confirmation or correction of the ID would be appreciated. TIA

Genus is correct, and it is probably this species
Moved from ID Request. I can't judge the tibiae well enough to tell the sex. The male (in this species, but necessarily all Epuraea) has a "kink", described as being "sinuate within and thickened at tip". See as an example

thanks
It never fails that no matter how many photos I take of an insect, there's always something I didn't get a picture of. I have one more photo showing the tibiae but they don't look as extreme as the example you thumbed.
Thanks again for the help and for the explanation
