BG842 C8032 - Condylostylus - female

BG842 C8032 - Condylostylus - Female
Baton Rouge, Brookhollow Drive, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA
April 29, 2007
Size: body length 6.2 mm
Rescued from fountain, photographed after recovery. We believe it belongs in the family Dolichopodidae, and the patterned wings are similar to some of the flies in the genus Condylostylus.
Assistance with identification would be appreciated.

Maybe in the sipho group
Most of the Condylostylus with marked wings and pale femora and tibiae are in the C. sipho group. In New England all of them are. I'm not sure if the rule applies to females in Louisiana. You might have a tropical species with dark-legged male and pale-legged female.

The body size you give is very large. That might help ID once I know more about these flies.

Some features used to ID Sciapodinae to genus: Curvature of M1, long hairs on scutellum, presence/absence of mounds at top, inner edge of eyes.

Nice.
Nice image of what is 'obviously' a dolichopodid, but I'm not informed enough to decide a genus. I know at least some Condylostylus have wing markings like this, but other genera may, too.
