form conspicua of - Harmonia axyridis

form conspicua of - Harmonia axyridis

Olla v-nigrum, maybe? I haven't seen one with holes in the red spots. The pronotum and face markings are a little abbreviated as well.

Thanks for the corrections, and sorry for the hassle!
To whom it may concern: A lot of times I get move-o-phobia and then just let others, more expert, decide where to place my images. I know it can be frustrating. But it is what it is.

I do like the use of "form conspicua" and designations for the multitude of forms of H. axyridis, that is a pretty awesome approach. I, at one time started to make a chart of different forms that I see, however, were I live there seems to be a huge predominance of the bright orange with many spots, and very few other forms. But it will be interesting to see how they are distributed geographically.

I re-wrote my title so form conspicua would appear in front of Harmonia axyridis so it will be more clear to someone browsing through the species. Anyways, I do appreciate your efforts!

Harmonia axyridis for me
This is Harmonia axyridis f. conspicua from what the photos show.

Olla shows more white on the head, which forms the characteristic "crown" shape.

Most importantly the markings; the red spot size, height (Olla's red markings are wider than they are long), and black spot within are typical of Harmonia, never seen on Olla.

Moved tentatively...good thought!
