how do you tell this genus apart from others in the subfamily?

Specimens!!
There are many things that separate this genus. The size and placement of the eyes is pretty distinctive. Also, they do not have parasitic larvae. But the best way to tell them apart, that is easily apparent in this photo, is the large, black setae are covering the pedipalps that are used for digging.

Specimens are always so very much appreciated! I am still getting excellent data from the stuff you sent me before. I could not be more grateful for that.
