Pudgy bee - is it Anthophora? - Anthophora urbana
Fullerton Arboretum, Fullerton, Orange County, California, USA
May 2, 2007

one of my favorite genuses
I'm almost definitely sure this is Anthophora urbana

Looks like we like the same bees.
How about Per*dita too? Thanks again. I hope to keep finding more neat little ones, after a long spate of Bombus. BTW, does this one look fat to you?

ya it does look kinda fat :),
ya it does look kinda fat :), I think I really like these because they also have really defined stripes on their abdomen that looks really clean. I love anything in the family Megachilidae or apidae, I find they have the more hefty bees.

Chunky, hairy legs are my thing.
Oh, maybe that's more than I wanted to say. LOL!
