Flotsam cryptophagid - Telmatophilus americanus

Flotsam cryptophagid - Telmatophilus americanus
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
April 19, 2007
Size: 2.2 mm
Only one of this species found so far among thousands of other beetles from at least 24 other families (plus many other arthropods) by pawing and sifting through flotsam from a substantially swollen catchment basin after several days of heavy, non-stop rain.

I had been expecting the family Cryptophagidae to show up, and this one looked familiar to me. It appears to be the same species as one of my earlier posts.

A friend of mine . . .
specialized on Cryptophagids. Would be nice if you save them :-)

It's well inebriated.
I'll send it with my shipment, which so far contains just one Dorcat*oma specimen.
