It looks more like a Tachinid
It looks more like a Tachinidae, but not Trichopoda, close to Cylindromyia, but the mouthparts are not right... well it might be another one of the 300 Tachinidae genera... Cool fly

I'll agree with that... after some searching through the Neartic manual I think this might be Beskia aelops... the mouthparts,large antennae and uniquely shaped eye seem to be a good match... also listed as having an orange abdomen and black wings... range listed as Southern... I will make a page for this one

This is a fly of some sort... Bombyliidae seems most likely... this might be a new one for the guide
