Springtail - Bourletiella hortensis

Springtail - Bourletiella hortensis
Parc national du Mont-Saint-Bruno, Montérégie County, Quebec, Canada
May 3, 2007
Is it a male and female? One was a lot smaller than the other one.

About the size
The size ranges from 0.9 to 1.3 mm. In Bourletiella the size difference between males and females is not that large as in Sminturides. The males typically are a bit smaller.
The smaller specimen in this picture can also be a subadult.
