Ammophila aberti - Ammophila - female

Ammophila aberti - Ammophila - Female
Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge, Lincoln County, Nevada, USA
May 30, 2015
This female was just finishing covering up her burrow. When first observed, she was filling the hole with a perfectly-sized plug (pebble or soil clump), then kicked loose soil over all. She quickly departed, and this was the only photograph obtained.
