Syrphid Fly? If so, what species? - Temnostoma

Syrphid Fly? If so, what species? - Temnostoma
Savannah, Carroll County, Illinois, USA
June 3, 2015
This is the first time I have encountered this. Of course, I thought it was a wasp of some sort, but now suspect it is a syrphid fly of some sort. It doesn't match exactly any of the species that I have found in BugGuide, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
