I first noticed this butterfly in the last week of May but wasn't able to get a photo. It was cruising back and forth along a grassy embankment and seemed to cover the same distance and area each time before it turned around and repeated its performance. After visiting the area four times I only saw one individual at any one time. On the day this photo was taken the butterfly was making short flights before dropping into the grass and fluttering its wings open.
