These co-founding queens seem to be the predominant species here, but i cannot decide on their identity.

I'm not an expert,
but with no stripes on the scutum, and in OK, maybe P. apaches? P. texanus has the stripes but otherwise looks much like them. Dr. Buck will be able to tell you...but he might be out hunting wasps himself!

which Polistes is this?
I thought P. apachus as well, but another source told me P. exclamans. As a beginner i take very seriously their opinion, but i just don't see it. Just trying to learn here. I sure wish someone would settle the id for sure.
