Bee-like robber fly - Laphria flavicollis

Bee-like robber fly - Laphria flavicollis
Medora Prairie, Warren County, Iowa, USA
June 6, 2015
Size: 13 mm
It looks like thoracica to me. The very small fly on the prey looks similar to ones I have seen on the prey of crab spiders and ambush bugs.
