Larger broken fir stennie

Larger broken fir stennie
Jefferson Notch Road, Coos County, New Hampshire, USA
May 5, 2007
Size: about 5.5mm
Tom Murray and I found just one of this larger stennie type by pulling apart large splinters of snapped, broken fir trees. We expected sa*p and bar*k beetles, not Sten*us-type rove beetles.
