Robust brown bug - scutellerid? - Neottiglossa sulcifrons

Robust brown bug - scutellerid? - Neottiglossa sulcifrons
Anderson River Park, Shasta County, California, USA
June 13, 2015
Size: about 5.5 mm
I beat this interesting brown bug from a shrub. It's hiding its antennae I presume - maybe a shield-backed bug?

Neottiglossa sulcifrons --det. D.B. Thomas
Moved from subgenus Texas.

cool... will ask around
in scutellerids, the scutellum reaches the rear end of the abdomen

Moved from True Bugs, Cicadas, Hoppers, Aphids and Allies.

Thanks v!
Using my thread count calibration for my beat sheet, this bug was about 5.5 mm long, so my visual estimate wasn't too far off (I corrected it from ca 5-8 mm)... :)

Maybe...
Neottiglossa? Something like this?

Thanks Yurika -
that certainly looks to be in the right ballpark. Nothing in that tribe from CA in BG yet, but there is a record from Oregon...
