Synageles female - Synageles noxiosus - female

Synageles female - Synageles noxiosus - Female
Yosemite Lakes, along Patrick Avenue, Madera County, California, USA
May 26, 2015
Size: 3 mm
Tim Manolis beat this salticid from low oak branches. He kept her alive in captivity for a while and then gave her to me a couple of weeks later to photograph and preserve as a specimen. The epigynum appears to be compatible with S. noxiosus, and Tim found an adult male of that species at this same location earlier in the year:

Tim notes that this female was much bigger and "fatter" when he collected it - she laid an egg sac in captivity and became much skinnier!
