Pedilus lugubris (Say) ?
Eric is correct - Pedilus in the fire-colored beetle family Pyrochroidae. Even more ironically, perhaps - I was probably out in the Cross Plains area collecting on or near 8 May, 2007 when this image was taken! As I have noted on a couple other Pedilus images, critical to see the back ends of these little guys (& gals) to have the highest confidence, but the way the light is reflecting off the near-apex of the right elytron, it looks like a male of Pedilus lugubris (Say).

Pedilus sp.
I suspect this is a species of Pedilus in the fire-colored beetle family Pyrochroidae. Ironically, one of the leading authorities on the family is Dr. Daniel K. Young, at U of Wisconsin in Madison:-)
