Swept two of these from tall brush. Both Parcoblatta virginica and Ectobius lapponicus are abundant in the area.

. Fairly sure this is Hyptia, as I don't see any obvious cells in the forewing. My best guess would be either H. harpyoides or H. thoracica, but I can't tell for sure.

suggests that H. harpyoides is the only evaniid in the area. I kept the specimen, what would be needed for a species ID?

It's likely both occur in New England
but its hard to be sure. Hymenoptera catalog

defintely puts harpyoides in your area and also lists H. thoracica up to Ontario and Connecticut.

for identification key. Link I gave goes to the furthest point I could get to with confidence.
The key characters are on the mesopleuron (the shiny lateral section of the thorax), the sculpture of the head, and the punctures on the ventral side of the hind femur.
