mud nest? - Ancistrocerus waldenii

mud nest? - Ancistrocerus waldenii
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
June 17, 2015
Size: ~2 inches wide
I'm going to take some better photos tomorrow. For some unknown reason I didn't use a flash for although I did for the wasp. It was late in the day when I noticed this. I think that the wasp which was resting in the ridge below this may have made this mud nest (for lack of a better term).
