Hodges #9696 - Dusky Groundling - Condica vecors

Hodges #9696 - Dusky Groundling - Condica vecors
Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, USA
June 21, 2015
Size: Fiorewing ~16mm
At outdoor light. With respect to wing pattern, shape of reniform and orbicular spots plus the black claviform spot, this looks like a Condica vecors, but it lacks all what is supposed to be white, including hindwing fringes. I still thinks it is that species, but I have never seen one like this and there's none like it pictured in BugGuide. I am tempted to move this image to the species page but post it in Moths to invite comments.

Moved
Moved from Moths. The overall appearance obviously is not typical for C. vecors but the each of the individual wing patterns is, except for the white in the reniform spot that is lacking. The thorax indicates that moth is somewhat worn, however, and I want to point out that the picture was taken without a flash under an incandescent lamp.
