Swallowtail ID request - Papilio rutulus

Swallowtail ID request - Papilio rutulus
Thornton, Adams County, Colorado, USA
June 21, 2015
Size: About 12 cm wingspan
I found this swallowtail flying around in my backyard. I'm in one of the few areas where the range of Papilio rutulus and Papilio glaucus overlap, and I'm not great at identifying butterflies. If you could tell me if this is an eastern or western tiger that would be great!

Color corrected image for ID help
also a below (ventral)view would be very helpful for ID.

Better picture
I pinned this specimen so I got a better image of it on my DIY spreading board. I can't get a picture of the underside (atleast for 7 days) so this is all I can give you.

At edge of range for both species
ID is likely Eastern Tiger since what I call the "claw" marking is limited to three veins or less whereas Western is usually greater than three.
Need ventral view to be certain.

I can't get a ventral view right now.
When I take the butterfly off of my spreading board in 7 days I'll get you a ventral view. If you subscribe to this thread then I can get you that ventral photo ASAP.

Thanks, I understand.
I'll automatically be notified when the thread is updated.

Ventral photo
I got the ventral shot. Hope this helps!
