Large Milkweed Bug - Oncopeltus fasciatus

Spent skin of one of the instars. Despite the fact that immature Milkweed Bugs must shed their skins several times during growth toward adulthood, and despite the fact that I saw several hundred immature animals when I photographed them, I could find only a few cast skins. This makes me wonder if they are eaten by the Milkweed Bugs or by something else.

Neat images.

If you are certain about the id, you can go ahead and submit directly into the guide rather than Id request. ID request is perfectly appropriate, though, if you're seeking confirmation or want a more specific id. See the help for more details.
