Carpet Beetle - Anthrenus verbasci

Carpet Beetle - Anthrenus verbasci
Greenwood County, South Carolina, USA
February 5, 2005
Size: ~2mm
I found this little beetle on my bathroom wall. Very small, maybe ~2mm. I need to work on my photo technique for stuff this small. I captured this image just as it was getting ready to fly off. Interesting mottled brown and gray colors on elytra and pronotum. Antennae look clubbed but might have been lamellate.

Moved from carpet beetles.

Yes, carpet beetle
..as Troy said. Maybe this one (look at all the synonyms!) or a related species.

Anthrenus sp.
This is probably A. verbasci, the currently agreed-upon name for the "varied carpet beetle." Please keep this one away from my insect collection:-)

Carpet Beetle
I think this is an adult carpet beetle. I'm not sure how many species and such there are, but some googling will turn up similar photos.
