Moth that looks like a bird dropping - Antaeotricha

Moth that looks like a bird dropping - Antaeotricha
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
May 12, 2007
I had a field day yesterday afternoon in a small conservancy area near where I live. The insect population there was just tremendous so I have quite a backlog now of photos to submit. Here's one of my favorite finds. It really did think this was a bird dropping at first but it looked too straight on the leaf and I noticed the antennae sticking out when I looked at it closer.
