Nags Head, Dare County, North Carolina, USA July 5, 2015 Size: about 1 cm long each
I searched around on the web and found the species Schizomyia viticola as a possible match but I am not sure of the range of that species or if there are similar species that are possibilities. There were definitely insect larvae in the tubes. The larvae were yellowish in color.
