Dilophus sp - Dilophus - Female
Pasadena, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA
May 12, 2007
Size: ~8-10mm
Found on my cedar tree near dusk. Sorry for the pic quality. I did capture and chill but she revived extremely quickly and took off after one shot (the third in this series). Anyone know the species? I'm not sure of which species are present in the U.S. and more specifically, Maryland but I was thinking D. femoratus. One more question, how come it looks "dirty"; a fungus of some sort?
