Enaphalodes Atomarius - Enaphalodes atomarius
Juno Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, USA
May 13, 2007
Size: body is 1.50+ inches long
Found this long horned beetle in our pool in Juno Beach, FL (Palm Beach County). Photographed on the pool skimming net (7 of those little "holes" in the net equal 1 cm). Allowed the beetle to dry off in the shade and released it back into the world.

in Florida?
Orwellion gibbulum. Did you also check the Florida illustrated checklist?

parelaphidion incertum?
Thank you, Phillip. . .I appreciate your response, is it some sort of Elaphidion?

my gut says

Enaphalodes Atomarium or Parelaphidion ( aspersum?)
Wonderful! Thank you! It's robust size (over 1.50" body length) made me think perhaps it was a Parelaphidion.

I agree with Phil...
...Enaphalodes atomarius
