Tread waisted wasp - Physocephala texana - Male

Size: about 1" long
I don't remember having seen this particular wasp species before. This one was on sulphur flower in a xeric flower patch. All 3 photos are of the same wasp.

Physocephala texana
Thank you for the more specific identification. I am pleased that my observation may have helped to document the north-westward spread of this species. I have not seen another Physocephala texana since.
