Size: ~ 1 cm
Here is another shot of the same fly showing its femur. It looks pretty large and somewhat spiny to me. The other shots show the wing venation better, and possibly a spurious vein? I'm horrible with venation! I believe Keith is right. Possibly Chalcosyrphus libo?
