Unidentified Moth - Clydonopteron sacculana

Unidentified Moth - Clydonopteron sacculana
Mathews County, Virginia, USA
July 17, 2015
This colorful moth was a mere speck on a porch screen within feet of the Chesapeake Bay. I tried with regular lens and macro lens and just couldn't get a decent image. Have searched both insect and moth guides and I don't have a clue. Thanks very much for any info!

I agree with Lynn.

Reminded me of a Boxwood leaftier, so I investigated
I think it's an excellent photo.
Your moth might be Clydonopteron sacculana - Trumpet Vine Moth - Hodges#5563. I discovered your moth in the same Subfamily Chrysauginae as the Boxwood leaftier I photographed last night.
I see the Trumpet Vine Moth has been photographed in Fairfax, Virginia in September, and in Charlotte, NC in April. I'll let an expert verify.

Thank you!
Lynn, thank you so much for your response. It sure looks like Clydonopteron sacculana! I had nicknamed it the "Hippie Moth" because of the fringe and all of the colors. :-) I'll wait for an expert, too, but I'm sure you IDd it correctly. Thanks for the compliment on the photo, trying to photograph such a small moth in bright sunlight is a challenge!
