. Thanks, Ann. My only hesitation was that the apical third of the wings seemed constrastingly pale compared to the pattern on most BG images of that species. I do see a few BG specimens that have that characteristic, though.

John, I went through a spring when I had a number of these. They were very variable and confusing to me, but after that they kind of got a "look" to me. I see 4 tiny dark dots in both of your images, Sometimes they are not there and then sometimes they are little squares and as in Carl's picture they are kind of a darker slash.
