Sexing wasps in the genus Ammophila (ventral) - Ammophila -

These are images of a male Thread-waisted Wasp in the genus Ammophila. The 4 major character groups for IDs of wasps in this genus are listed below indicate that he is something very close to a male Ammophila aberti.
1) - size = medium
2) - wing patterns and colors = clear cells, tegula orange-brown, brown veins with some darker
3) - head, legs, thorax and abdomen colors = black, red, and silver
4) - hair color, length, patches (dark or bright) = silver, long, very few patches
