Blue-tailed Damselfly?

Blue-tailed Damselfly?
Santa Clara, California, USA
July 25, 2015
I am a visitor to the US. I took this photo in the backyard of a house in Silicon Valley, northern California, and I think it might be an Ischnura elegans, possibly the rufescens form. Can anyone tell me if I am right, please?

Aaah, I'm off the track completely! Following your lead I thought it might be Argia tibialis but it's not found in CA, apparently. I'll keep looking and come back if I find a nearer match. In the meantime, thanks for the tip.
