Discoderus impotens - female

Discoderus impotens - Female
Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, USA
August 5, 2015
Size: 8.5 mm
This year these carabids are arriving by the hundreds every night at the patio UV light. Females greatly outnumber males, the first 8 I looked at were female (2 males out of 12 specimens). I saw that Bugguide didn't yet have impotens well-represented so here are a couple. Notice the pronotum ratio of width/length is 1.4 as expected.
