Identification
A diverse subfamily. Members always have the A1 vein reaching the wing margin and multiple apical ventral bristles on the mid tibia. They typically have two pairs of fronto-orbital bristles (except some Oecotheini) and 1+3 dorsocentrals (except Orbelliini; the anterior dorsocentrals can be weak in some Heleomyzini).
