Attracted to porch lite. This species has been reported not very far north of Wrangell.

This does seem to match the description for
vagana
here
pretty well except for the part about the distal border between the pale area and the dark area. However, BOLD has a near exact match under
lindana
from Landry so I think we should go by that. See Sample ID:CNCLEP00029396
here
. Apparently there is a population in your area with the dark part of the wing being a brighter red. See other examples in the same BIN cluster
here
. It's genetically pretty far from its nearest neighbor, a BIN with dark
lindana
, and I wonder if it might be eventually placed in its own species.

Looks like an Epinotia
Susan,
This is way out of my fauna. I'm going to move to genus, where hopefully someone can verify. If you're correct, we'll have to add a guide page, as it would be a first for bugguide.
