As I remember it, when I first saw them about a month ago they seemed peachier, but I am not sure they were streaked like yours.

Location of the gall on the plant is important, and Disholcaspis galls (like yours) are attached to twigs, whereas Even's are attached to the leaves.

I don't know Arizona oaks well, and would have to know what species of "scrub oak" this is to look up the gall.

Looks similar, but I wouldn't call them equivalent--if either of ours had an ID, they might be a good identification starting point for the other. There were a ton of galls at this site, all looking identical to mine.

Thank you. May I link mine to yours? I have not seen many here but will be "on the lookout" now. I am not good at identifying wasps and am not sure I have seen any of the Genus you referred to at my sheet.

Sorry, a thumb reference was what I was planning to use. I am not smart enough to have a Genus thought, but Jeff Brown gave me a suggested Family of Cynipidae.
