Xylophagus perhaps... running it through the key seems to lead to X. cinctus... hopefully someone else will chime in on this

You have a species key to Xylophagus? Impressive. That is the right group. Don't have a species key down here in the warming south. And have never found one of these beautiful flies.

I posted the key on the genus info page. It's a bit difficult to use without a good closeup of the head, but by process of elimination I think X. cintus is a likely suspect.
