The
only Eris found in CA is militaris from what I can tell, and this does not appear to be one.
There are a few Meta's in your area, though, and that seems to be a better match.
Maybe Sassacus (Metaphidippus) vitis?
Does Peter know anyone who might have a better idea?

 
Apparently, this one really jumps.
I'll check with Peter and will advise if it's nailed down.
