Evacanthus interruptus
This is a very young leafhopper nymph. It looks like a sharpshooter because of its large, bulbous head; but the only sharpshooters in Newfoundland belong to the genus Draeculacephala which have a pointed head. By elimination, this must be the introduced European Evacanthus interruptus that has been reported from the St. John's area. Please watch for late-instar nymphs (with wing pads) and adults!
