opinion of Paul Skelley:
"
Triplax frosti
is hard even with the specimen. The key characters of punctures are not really evident to me in the picture, either way. And the scutellum is not as yellow as on the few
T. frosti
at hand. It could be."

What to look for?
I have slightly better images and the specimen on hand ... or can scope it in the next day or two to confirm any minute details.

Okay, I've posted the image. Also scoped it ... the elytra are lacking the basal margin, but I'm not sure about the impunctate intervals part.

Well then, maybe there were
two species or varieties at the site, and I shot one but collected the other.

it's not unusual for multiple spp to live on the same fungus. pls exert yourself to shoot and catch more next time -- as you see, the guide has them badly underrepresented. (they key out easily, and we can always ask Dr Skelly, too -- he's been good to us :) thanks in advance, Stephen!
