Harvestman eating fly - Leiobunum nigropalpi

Harvestman eating fly - Leiobunum nigropalpi
DNR Sturgeon River Sloughs, Baraga County, Michigan, USA
July 12, 2015
This Harvestman was either eating a fly it had caught or scavanged a fly it had found. Do they eat live prey? It was about 3:30 p.m.
and was on a Thimbleberry leaf. The habitat was an old railroad grade running through a second growth forest and a pond nearby in a field.
The location is in the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan near Lake Superior.

Moved
Moved from Harvestmen.

ID
Leiobunum nigropalpi, probably female. Harvestmen are opportunists. They will grab live prey if they can handle it, but dead is OK too.
