Cotesia congregata emerging from pupa - Cotesia congregata

Cotesia congregata emerging from pupa - Cotesia congregata
Port Republic, Atlantic County, New Jersey, USA
September 2, 2015
Tomato hornworms in our garden have been parasitized this summer by wasps (as usual). Finally managed to get a quick pic of emerging adult wasp.

C. congregata…
The braconid cocoons have nearly covered the host completely, but it does appear to be M. sexta, suggesting you have the right parasitoid.

See reference here.

Thank you, Ross!
I was more confident about the ID of the host (M. sexta) than the wasp, although I made the mistake with the common name (tomato hornworm = M. quinquemaculata, at least according to David Wagner) I have lots of photos showing the caterpillar. Will try to attach one here, if I can figure out how-to.

I appreciate very much your taking the time to clarify both IDs.
