Isa textula pupating?

Isa textula pupating?
Reveler Conservation Area, North Stormont, Ontario, Canada
September 1, 2015
I had photographed this Isa textula a week previous, and when I returned it was in this stage. Is it pupating? When I looked for it a day later, it had vanished.

Parasitized?
It looks to me like a fly maggot is emerging from the larva....but I've been wrong before.

Interesting..
Thank you for this. My first thought was parasitism, but the 'thing' looked so big that I then wondered if it was pupating. I expect you are right.
