Metalectra? - Metalectra

Metalectra? - Metalectra
Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, USA
September 6, 2015
Size: Wingspan ~20mm
At outdoor light. Looks like a Fungus Moth Metalectra to me, but I cannot ascertain a match with any of them (the brown hue on the left side is due to the incandescent lamp near the moth).

Moved from ID Request.

I'm thinking ...
It's a dark Common Fungus Moth (8499), because of the jagged PM, the blackish reniforms on FW and HW and the whitish basal line.

Yes, possibly -
Thanks, Robert, for your suggestion. I agree, but these Fungus Moth types are so variable. In fact, I am still looking at M. tantilla as a possibility - the brown of the wing on the left detracts from the dark appearance of the other wing which is how I really remember the entire moth (I wanted to catch it for a better photo but it flew off before I had a chance).

As always ...
Who knows if this one is correctly ID'd :)

Probably ok.
But what do I know. At least it has the "dark blackish band" across the median area that mine doesn't have, certainly not as distinctive. I still think my moth is a Metalectra tantillus but wished I had a more convincing photo.
