Click Beetle - Stropenron pudica
McKenzie Meadows, north side of Goodrich Mtn. near Westwood, Lassen County, California, USA
June 8, 2015
Size: Body length 11mm
A rather nice looking Pseudanostirus specimen; but it does not seem to match well any of the BugGuide species.
My thanks for any help with species ID!

Pseudanostirus pudicus
ID confirmed by examination of voucher specimen.

[based on current concept of P. pudicus]

I showed your photo to P.J. Johnson' he says:
P. pudicus (Brown), or thereabouts. There appears to be two or more species, or a complex north-south morphological cline, in what is broadly regarded as this species.

Moved from Pseudanostirus.
